inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Central Lombok Sub-regional Police in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) are reminding people to remain vigilant against fraud and anticipate various cybercrimes in the era of technological advancement.
Central Lombok Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Eko Yusmiarto, stated that throughout 2025, there is potential for public order and security disturbances stemming from various social conditions. Statistically, total crimes increased by 17 percent, from 547 cases in 2024 to 640 cases in 2025.
"Of those hundreds of cases, fraud and assault are the dominant ones. However, it is important to note that the number of other crimes are also increasing," said Chief Eko on Friday (1/2/2026).
Chief Eko added that the public is urged to remain vigilant against various forms of fraud, both through social media and other investment schemes.
"In 2026, we urge the public to remain vigilant, as fraud cases are expected to occur quite frequently in 2025," noted Eko
He stated that although crime in Central Lombok increased in 2025, law enforcement efforts showed positive results, with a 68 percent increase in case resolutions from 286 cases in 2024 to 482 cases in 2025.
"This data shows that despite the increase in the number of crimes, our law enforcement performance has also improved," he explained.
In addition to the fraud cases that must be monitored, his office also urged the public to combat drug trafficking, which can harm the children.
"Based on data, narcotics case resolutions have increased by 48 percent compared to the previous year," he concluded.
In detail, the Central Lombok Police handled 82 narcotics cases, with 66 cases successfully resolved. A total of 117 suspects were arrested, consisting of 113 men and 4 women, with 8.2 kilograms of methamphetamine seized as evidence.
"We continue to carry out integrated operations to suppress drug trafficking in the Central Lombok region," concluded Eko
