inp.polri.go.id - Kupang. In celebrating the New Year’s Eve 2026, the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Regional Police held an interfaith prayer as a reflection, empathy, and humanitarian solidarity for the disaster victims in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.
The prayer was led by NTT Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Rudi Darmoko, attended by Regional Leadership Coordination Forum, religious leaders, and the officials of NTT Regional Police.
In his remarks, Rudi emphasized that this New Year’s Eve celebration is also a moment of reflection and concern for others.
"Tonight, we are not just celebrating the arrival of the New Year, but also reflecting on the meaning of togetherness, empathy, and human solidarity amidst the various challenges facing our nation," said Rudi.
He stated that this year's New Year's Eve feels different as some of his fellow countrymen are still grieving due to the floods and landslides that struck several areas in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.
Through the interfaith prayer, the NTT Regional Police Chief invited all people to send prayers to the deceased, and for the bereaved families to be given strength. He also wished for the rehabilitation and recovery process in the disaster areas to proceed smoothly.
He also prayed that NTT Province be spared from all disasters and that the people of NTT continue to live in harmony, peace, and prosperity.
