Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Central Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police arrested a 37-year-old man carrying 500 tramadol pills during a late-night operation in Tanah Abang area on Friday (29/5/2026), following community reports of illegal drug transactions in the area.

“After investigation, officers secured one suspect with hundreds of tramadol pills in a black plastic bag,” said Senior Superintendent Reynold E. P. Hutagalung, the Head of of Central the Jakarta Police.

The suspect, identified as AR, is a resident of Kebon Melati, Tanah Abang. A urine test revealed positive results for methamphetamine. Police are investigating the source of the drugs and possible wider distribution networks.

“This case is being developed to uncover the full network of illegal pharmaceutical trafficking,” said Superintendent Wisnu Setiyawan Kuncoro, the Central Jakarta Politce Head of Narcotics Unit.

The suspect faces charges under Indonesia’s Health Law, with penalties ranging from six years imprisonment to life.
