Inp.polri.go.id - Semarang. The Central Java Regional Police intensified early detection measures and routine patrols across fire-prone areas on Wednesday (2/9/2026), following a direct directive from Indonesian National Police (INP)  Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

The initiative, detailed in Telegram Letter ST/1895/VIII/OPS.1.2./2026, directs all regional police forces to strengthen inter-agency coordination, community engagement, and law enforcement against illegal land-burning practices during the dry season.

"In Central Java, the terrain and potential fire sources vary widely across agricultural, plantation, and forest areas," Central Java Police Head of Public Relations Senior Superintendent Yuliyanto said. "Early detection and community involvement are crucial, as small fires in hot, dry conditions can rapidly expand."

He said that while prevention remains the primary focus alongside regional disaster management agencies (BPBD) and military soldiers, strict legal sanctions will be enforced against any individuals or business entities found intentionally setting fires.
