inp.polri.go.id - Semarang. The Central Java Police arrested four members of the GRIB Jaya mass organization who are suspected to be behind the destruction and theft of assets belonging to PT KAI in Semarang City, Central Java.

The Director of General Criminal Investigation of the Central Java Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Dwi Subagio in Semarang, Monday (5/19/2025), said that the four perpetrators of thuggery under the guise of a mass organization were arrested during the Operation Aman Candi 2025 and were secured last Saturday (5/17/2025).

"From the results of the investigation, it was identified that the perpetrators were members of GRIB Jaya," he said.

He said that the action taken by the police was based on a report from the Semarang Operational Branch of  PT KAI.

A group of people suspected of being members of the GRIB Jaya mass organization damaged a fence and took away a number of metal materials without permission.

Dwi said the actions of the perpetrators were recorded by CCTV cameras around the location.

From the perpetrators, officers secured evidence such as a car suspected of being used to transport stolen goods and documents in the form of a mandate letter signed by the Head of GRIB Jaya Semarang City.

For their actions, the perpetrators were charged with Article 170 of the Criminal Code concerning acts of violence or Article 363 of the Criminal Code concerning theft.

He added that investigators were still developing the case to trace the whereabouts of other perpetrators in the crime.
