inp.polri.go.id - Medan. The Medan Immigration Office examined 23 Foreign Nationals (WNA) from Bangladesh who do not have valid immigration documents.
"Currently, the 23 WNA are still being examined at the Medan Immigration Office to determine their status and the next legal steps," said Head Medan Immigration Office, Uray Avian in Medan, Monday (5/19/2025).
Uray continued that the investigation included the possibility that dozens of Bangladeshi citizens will be detained, deported, or banned according to applicable regulations.
For this reason, the Medan Immigration Office also appealed to the public to participate in immigration supervision by reporting the presence of suspicious foreigners.
"This is a form of active participation in maintaining security and order in the Indonesian region," he said.
The examination of the WNA from Bangladesh began with security carried out by the Medan Immigration at a hotel in the Pancur Batu District area, Deli Serdang Regency, Saturday (5/17/2025) night.
Uray said it started with information received from the Medan Sub-regional City Police regarding the presence of a number of suspicious foreign nationals.
Then, the Medan Immigration Office Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement Team immediately coordinated with the Pancur Batu Sub-regional Police to conduct a check on the location.
"From the results of the initial inspection, all of the foreign nationals did not have valid travel documents and residence permits, such as passports or visas," he said.
Uray also emphasized that the success of this operation could not be separated from cross-sector collaboration. His party appreciates the solid synergy with the police.
