inp.polri.id - Semarang. The Central Java Regional Police are still investigating the trigger for the 13 ships that caught fire in the port area of Tegal City. Therefore, they sent a team of Forensic Laboratory (Labfor) to find out the exact cause of the incident. "We are working on a deeper investigation by deploying the Forensic Lab team. This was carried out in the context of a scientific investigation to discover the cause of the fire," said the Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Regional Police, Pol. Grand Commissioner Muhammad Iqbal Alqudusy, in Semarang, Thursday (11/18/21). For the investigation, the police put up a police line at the scene. Residents are asked not to visit the location of the ship's fire because there is still smoke and remnants of the fire, although it is relatively small. It is feared later that the remaining fire could pose a risk of explosion. "So the location is not safe, and at this time, the police are still securing the location for the benefit of the crime scene," said the Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Police. Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Regional Police, Pol. Grand Commissioner Muhammad Iqbal Alqudusy explained that there was no definitive count of material losses due to the fire. However, based on the facts on the ground, 13 ships burned. "The price of each vessel ranges from Rp. 2 billion to IDR 4 billion. However, the official number of estimated losses is not yet available," said the Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Regional Police. Police are still investigating this fire. At least four witnesses have been questioned. Previously, dozens of ships caught fire at the port of Tegal City, Wednesday (11/17/21) starting at 01.30 AM.
