Central Kalimantan Government Set Raise Disaster Response Level as Wild Fire Rages

Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Central Kalimantan Government authorized disaster response status to emergency response to the wild fire that is currently happening. The emergency level will be set for 10 days, from October 6th to 15th. “Started on October 6th to October 15th, emergency alert status raised to emergency response. Then we will evaluate and see how the crisis develops,” says Central Kalimantan Governor Sugianto Sabran in Palangka Raya on Friday (10/6/2023). He also instructs regional heads whose region devastated by the wild fire should not leave their posts. He explains that the increase is based on the development of the situation in the field. The increase also applied to several regencies and cities, such as East Kotawaringin, Palangkaya Raya, and others. It was stated that the duration for the disaster response could be extended or even shortened. To support the task and function on Disaster Emergency Management Command Post, every divisions or department could form any task force or group to handle various problems. Moreover, Central Kalimantan Government has prepared IDR 110 billion which is the allocation for Unexpected Costs (BTT). “This cost to optimize our wild fire handling, such as to add more personnel and equipments. Please make a better use of this funds to optimize our wild fire handling,” he said in conclusion. (ad/ndt/pr/nm)
