As of Thursday afternoon at 12.00 pm, joint officers from the Petanang B Pioneer Battalion, Musi Rawas Sub-regional Police and Lubuk Linggau Sub-regional Police were still trying to secure the situation inside the prison.
Based on monitoring at the location, an inmate was seen shouting using a loudspeaker from inside the prison.
All rooms have been taken over by inmates, and the police are still trying to move in to secure the scene.
From the sentences conveyed by the inmates through the loudspeaker, they rebelled because they felt oppressed while serving their sentences in prison.
To facilitate the security process, the Musi Rawas Sub-regional Police closed the road in front of the prison.
For the time being, the road has been diverted through the Muara Beliti Agropolitan Center office.
