Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian shuttler Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo ended his long title drought by winning the Indonesia Masters 2025 men’s singles on Sunday (21/9/2025) in Pekanbaru, Riau.
The world No. 54 defeated South Korea’s Jeon Hyeok Jin, the tournament’s second seed, in a thrilling three-game final 13-21, 21-9, 21-17.
“Thank God I was able to finish the match well without injury. In the first game I followed my opponent’s rhythm too much, but in the next two I changed my strategy and dominated,” Chico said in a PBSI statement, as quoted by antaranews.com.
He added the deciding game was all about tactics and dedicated the victory to Indonesia, his family, and supporters.
The triumph marked Chico’s first title since the Taipei Open 2023, following a period of inconsistent form and early exits after leaving the national training center. With this win, he is determined to rebuild his career and will next compete at the Korea Open 2025 starting Tuesday.
