Chief of Central Java Regional Police Asks Covid-19 Handling to be Centred in Klaten

Chief of Central Java Regional Police, Police Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi, said that Police would implement contingency management in Klaten regency from Friday (23/7) due to exceptionally large new people tested positive for Covid-19. "Therefore, Covid-19 handling in Central Java would be centred at Klaten regency", Chief of Regional Police said when inspecting mass Covid-19 vaccination event in Klaten Departmental Police on Thursday morning (22/7). "So the active cases in Klaten is approaching 5,000. Therefore, all officers of Central Java Regional Police will go here to held briefings on Covid-19 handling activities in Klaten. I will go straight to the ground to penetrate, if an evaluation needed regarding our people", Chief of Regional Police said. The former Chief of Surakarta City Departmental Police said that the first step by Central Java Regional Police is to move self-isolating residents to the centralised isolation centres because self-isolation is deemed less effective in pushing down Covid-19 transmission and even triggers family cluster. "The main thing is, I appeal Klaten residents to conduct centralised isolation because the regional and provincial government has prepared the facilities", the Chief of Regional Police said. Chief of Regional Police also explained that patients would be moved to centralised isolation centres to be treated. He hopes that they could recover and go home in two weeks. "Do not be afraid. All charges would be to the regional and provincial governments. Police would help in the centralised isolation centres", Chief of Regional Police said. After inspecting the vaccination event, the Chief of Central Java Regional Police gives 100 basic necessities packages to street vendors, rickshaw drivers, and online motor-taxi drivers around Klaten city in the form of social care events. Previously, the Chief of Regional Police with the Primary Officials of the Regional Police and Klaten Regency Regional Leaders Communication Forum inspecting vaccination event in four Presisi Vaccination Booths at the backyard of Klaten Departmental Police. They checked several things such as queuing system to avoid crowds, vaccinator availability, and other Health Protocol facilities. Chief of Regional Police appreciated the smooth ran vaccination event, with 3,000 people vaccinated in a day. "In order to achieve herd immunity, we have established Presisi Vaccination Booth. These booths are spread across all Departmental Police and conducting mass vaccination every day as we are doing here in Klaten Departmental Police", Chief of Regional Police said. Related to Emergency PPKM (Community Activity Restrictions Enforcement), the Chief of Regional Police explained that Police also had distributed social aid to people affected by the Pandemic. The rice aid is distributed to street vendors, public transport drivers, et cetera through Departmental and Sectoral Police. "From the National Police, we have distributed 380 tons (of rice) spread across Departmental Police headquarters. Each Departmental Police would be equipped by 6 tons to be distributed in the form of social care event to affected people", Chief of Regional Police concludes.
