Covid-19 Cases are Still Rising, Police Urges People Not to Be Provoked by Demonstrations

On social media, there were call for demonstrations against PPKM (Community Activity Restriction) which would take place with a long march to State Palace, Saturday (07/24/21). In this regard, Head of Public Affairs Division of Indonesia National Police, Police Inspector General Raden Prabowo Argo Yuwono advised people not to be provoked into participating in this activity considering number of active cases of Covid-19 is still hiking. Head of Public Affairs Division also said his party would take action to demonstrators if they disrupted order. "We hope there will be no crowds because number of Covid-19 is quite high. If it will disturb public order, we will take action," he explained, Friday (07/23/21). Police Inspector General Raden Prabowo Argo Yuwono also said people who would raise their voice should only be done online. Seeing situation like this, it has the potential to cause new crowds and cluster. "It can be done with hearing or online FGD and so on," Head of Public Affairs Division of Indonesia National Police mentioned. For information, there are number of calls for action on social media that will take place in few days in the areas of Jakarta, Tangerang, Bekasi, Bogor, Brebes, Indramayu, Semarang, Solo, Sukoharjo, Banjarmasin, Pontianak, Samarinda, Kendari, Surabaya to Padang.
