Child Abuse Offender in NTT Arrested by Police

The Team Zero of the Directorate of Investigation for the Protection of Women and Children and the Eradication of Human Trafficking (Ditres PPA and PPO) of the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Regional Police successfully apprehended a man suspected of involvement in the sexual abuse of a child in Amarasi District, Kupang Regency.

The alleged perpetrator, identified as T.N. (43), was arrested on Tuesday (7/28/2026) in Ponain Village, Amarasi District, Kupang Regency. 

The action was carried out following the results of an investigation conducted by investigators.

After being apprehended, the alleged perpetrator was immediately taken to the NTT Regional Police Headquarters for further questioning and investigation to fully uncover the alleged crime.

The Director of the Protection of Women and Children and the Eradication of Human Trafficking at the NTT Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Nova Irone Surentu, emphasized that they are committed to providing maximum protection to women and children as vulnerable groups who become victims of sexual violence.

"We will handle every report related to alleged sexual violence against women and children quickly, professionally, and in accordance with legal procedures. Protecting the victims is our priority, while ensuring that every investigation process is conducted objectively and transparently," stated Nova.

According to her, investigators are currently continuing their investigation to gather evidence, interview witnesses, and uncover all the facts related to the case.

"We urge the public not to hesitate to report any acts of violence against women or children if they witness or experience them. The active role of the community is crucial to ensure that every case can be handled promptly and victims receive the protection and assistance they need," she said.

The NTT Regional Police emphasized that the investigation will be conducted professionally and accountably, upholding the rights of all parties. Throughout the legal process, the alleged perpetrator remains a suspect and is entitled to the presumption of innocence until a final and binding court decision is issued.

Through this case disclosure, the police reaffirms its commitment to providing a sense of security to the community and to firmly take action against all forms of violence against women and children to create a safe and violence-free environment in East Nusa Tenggara.
