inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto stated that Indonesia needs superior domestic governance to realize its goal of becoming a developed, modern, and independent nation.
"For a strong and successful nation, it needs superior, efficient, and disciplined domestic governance," Prabowo said while delivering a speech at the inauguration of the 33rd batch of young civil servants at the Institute of Domestic Government on the IPDN Sumedang Campus, West Java, on Wednesday (7/29/2026).
According to Prabowo, superior, efficient, disciplined, non-corrupt domestic governance that prioritizes the interests of the people will lead the country to success, prosperity, and public welfare.
"Our great ideal is for Indonesia to become a developed and modern nation, an independent nation, standing on its own two feet, not ruled by other nations, not dictated to by other nations, not deceived by other nations," said Prabowo.
Prabowo said this ideal must be realized through improving public welfare, including ensuring citizens receive a decent income, education, healthcare, and decent housing.
According to him, Indonesia's goal of becoming a developed nation will also be the responsibility of the young civil servants who will one day run the government in various regions.
"In twenty-five years, some of you will be governors, perhaps some of you will be standing on this podium. The future belongs to all of you," said Prabowo.
He emphasized that the young civil servants will be the driving force behind the government bureaucracy and determine the success of development on the ground.
