Inp.polri.go.id - Samarinda.  Chinese diver, identified as Zhang Xiao Han (30), was found dead by a joint Search and Rescue (SAR) team after going missing during a dive near Kakaban Island, Berau Regency, East Kalimantan.

“Zhang was located at 2.55 pm. local time at a depth of 87 meters in the Kelapa Dua diving area, near the original site of his disappearance,” said Endrow Sasmita, the Head of Operations and Readiness at the Balikpapan SAR Office, on Saturday evening (3/5/2025).

Zhang had dived with a group on Friday morning. At around 9 am., she lost his camera underwater and descended alone to retrieve it. She never resurfaced. 

Her body was later brought to Jetty Green Nirvana and transported to RSUD Abdul Rivai hospital in Berau for further handling.
