Inp.polri.go.id - Purwakarta. West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi said on Saturday (3/5/2025) a character-building program for students at the Indonesian Military (TNI)’s' Strategic Reserve Command (Kostrad) base in Purwakarta has improved student discipline.
“This program has shown a positive impact on student discipline,” he said during a visit to the training site, as quoted by antaranews.com.
Now in its third day, the program targets students accused of involvement in brawls, smoking, or drug abuse. Governor Dedi noted growing interest from parents seeking similar discipline-based interventions for their children.
The initiative involves students from across West Java and will soon expand to include high school students and other youth identified as engaging in misconduct. Participants receive guidance from various instructors as part of the program’s holistic approach to character development.
Governor Dedi observed 39 junior high students in training and personally checked food supplies to ensure proper nutrition. He emphasized that all participants had parental consent before entering the program.
