Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  Social media posts claiming former Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa was appointed head of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise are false.

Disinformation circulating on Facebook featured an image of the former minister wearing a formal customs and excise office ceremonial uniform, falsely asserting he assumed leadership of the customs agency following his tenure as Finance Minister.

Fact-checking verification revealed the photo originated from an official ceremonial event on 13 October  2025, when he served as ceremony inspector for the 79th Customs Day anniversary.

Ministry of Finance official records confirm that Lieutenant General (ret.) Djaka Budi Utama continues to serve as the active Director General of Customs and Excise, having been inaugurated on 23 May 2025. Authorities confirmed no credible reports exist supporting former minister Purbaya's appointment to the post.
