Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid appreciated the Indonesian National Police (INP)’s efforts in arresting a ministry official amid ongoing investigations into online gambling.

“We have been and will continue to coordinate and synergize with the police as a concrete demonstration of our commitment to create a clean, safe, and beneficial digital space for all Indonesians,”  she said in her official response on Thursday (31/10/2024), asserting the importance of transparency and cooperation in eradicating illegal gambling.

Minister Meutya assured her cooperation with law enforcement in resolving the online gambling case, aligning with directives from President Prabowo Subianto. 

"Law enforcement will be strict and impartial against anyone involved, especially if they are officials within our ministry,” she added, calling on her Ministry’ staff to cooperate with law enforcement during investigations. 

She affirmed that all civil servants within her Ministry have signed an integrity pact against online gambling, promising strict sanctions for any involvement in such crimes.
