Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Pekanbaru. Thousands of Riau Regional Police and Resort Police personnels along with Indonesia National Armed Forces distributed packages of nine-basic-needs for people affected by Covid-19 pandemic.
A total of 2,655 packages of nine-basic-needs were distributed in the activity which lasted until midnight. The nine-basic-needs were distributed to the outskirts of Pekanbaru City area, western region (direction to Kampar), northern region (direction to Minas) and eastern region (direction to Pelalawan/Siak).
Chief of Riau Regional Police, Police Inspector General Agung Setya Imam Effendi, accompanied by Director of Traffic Security of Riau Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Firman, Head of Public Affairs of Riau Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Sunarto and Chief of Pekanbaru Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Nandang, Friday (07/23/2021) directly distributed social assistance package in the center of Pekanbaru City. The targeted areas include Harapan Raya Street, Tuanku Tambusai Street to Soekarno Hatta (Arengka).
In this activity, Chief of Riau Regional Police advised street vendors and food sellers, tire repairperson and scavengers to support the implementation of PPKM (Community Activity Restriction) rules imposed by government so the spread of Covid-19 could decrease.
In addition, Chief of Riau Regional Police also advised residents to apply health protocols in their daily activities. This includes an invitation to vaccinations to those who have vaccinated.
"We travelled around the city, and found there were still residents who had to work at night. We hope this is managed well, while maintaining health care program and especially those who are vulnerable so they can be vaccinated. We have vaccination center and we direct it there. It is held every day "Chief of Riau Regional Police said.
Chief of Riau Regional Police ensured the distribution of nine-basic-needs by his staff was manifestation of mutual cooperation in an effort to support the community facing Covid-19 pandemic.
"Not only Riau Regional Police, all ranks of Resort Police are also doing the same thing, all of us have deployed 3,302 officers to patrol on large scale tonight and distribute social assistance of 2,655 packages of nine-basic-needs," Chief of Riau Regional Police explained.
"We want to help the community. We feel this is the time for all of us to lend a hand to support one another. The support will definitely be useful. Working together to complement one another, keep everything good, maintain harmony, this is the spirit for Riau to make everyone has hope "Chief of Riau Regional Police said.
