inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto stated that Indonesia's rice and corn production has now reached its highest level in the nation's history, as the government has successfully achieved self-sufficiency in several strategic food commodities.

"Our rice and corn production is the highest since our nation's founding," he said on Wednesday (6/24/2026).

According to him, this achievement is the result of the hard work of farmers, fishermen, and all parties involved in developing the national food sector. He considered food self-sufficiency to be one of his administration's greatest achievements in recent months.

"The greatest achievement we have achieved, and I am grateful for it, is our food self-sufficiency," he said. 

He explained that Indonesia is now able to produce various strategic food commodities, including rice and corn, to meet domestic needs. 

He stated that this success is inseparable from the support of various ministries, regional governments, and the support of the Indonesian Military (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (INP) in the program to boost food production.

President Prabowo also expressed his appreciation to Zulkifli Hasan, Andi Amran Sulaiman, Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, and other government officials involved in strengthening national food security. 

In addition, awards were given to governors, regents, and farmers in various regions who contributed to increasing food production.

He emphasized that food self-sufficiency is a crucial foundation for national security because no country can survive without adequate food availability.

"We are confident that we will achieve food self-sufficiency not just for one year. We will be self-sufficient in food forever," said President Prabowo.

He emphasized that sustainable food self-sufficiency will continue to be a government priority as part of efforts to strengthen national security and ensure food availability for all Indonesians.
