Inp.polri.go.id – Bengkalis. The Sub-regional Police of Bengkalis arrest Mesri (37) who smuggled drugs of 406.69 grams of methamphetamine, 10 pills of ecstasy, and Glock 19 along with its 9 mm bullets.
Bengkalis Police Chief, Police Grand Commissioner Adjutant Setyo Bimo Anggoro says that the discovery of the case was thanks to the public who informed that there is someone in Jangkang Village who circulates the drugs coming from Malaysia through Panampar beach.
“Thanks to that information, our drug investigation team and Bengkalis Customs and Excise investigates the case and gathered information," he said.
Later on, after taking a sea route, the joint team raided a house on Sunday (9/24/2023) morning at 05:00 in Jangkang Village. From the arrest, security officials found evidence in the house.
“The evidence are 17 bags of alleged methamphetamine drugs, 10 Diamond ecstasy pills, handphones, a cash of IDR 7,200,000, a Honda Scoopy motorcycle, a gun along with its bullets,” reports the police chief.
From the examination of the suspect, police finds that the suspect got the drugs from a person with the initials of RP also known as B, while the guns from N also known as Iwan from North Sumatra.
For their crimes, the suspect charged with two articles, article 114 (2) and Article 112 (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics.
