inp.polri.go.id - Italy reported more than 100,000 cases of Covid-19 on Tuesday (5/7), the highest since February. This spike in infection rates is because of the Omicron sub-variant, BA.5. The Italian Ministry of Health detailed the recorded daily cases reaching 132,274 cases, while the death toll was 94 people, quoted by Reuters. This country is said to be experiencing an increase in cases due to the Omicron BA.5 sub-variant. As of June 17, Italy's active cases of Covid-19 were less than 575,000. Then at the end of last week, active cases jumped by about 75% in just two weeks with 1.01 million cases. In response to the daily addition of cases, the government then implemented a number of rules. Business Standard reports that these regulations include requiring the use of masks indoors for those who have certain health risks, and the recommendation to work remotely. In addition, the protocol that applies in private workplaces also prohibits the entry of employees with body temperatures above 37.5 degrees Celsius. Workers who shows flu-like symptoms are also required to report to their leader in a timely manner.
