Customs Seizes 2.4 Million Illegal Cigarettes in Bali

Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar. The Regional Office of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise for Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, and East Nusa Tenggara confiscated 2.4 million illegal cigarettes in Bali for lacking excise stamps.

“We conducted 40 enforcement actions as of September 2025, covering both cigarettes and alcoholic beverages,” said Head of the Customs and Excise Division, Hari Murdiyanto, on Wednesday (29/10/2025, as reported by antaranews.com.

Authorities also seized 7,787.96 liters of alcoholic drinks. From January to September 2025, a total of 210 cases were recorded, involving 7.6 million cigarettes and 18,486.23 liters of alcohol.

The agency has mapped suspected entry routes of illegal tobacco products into Bali and continues to intensify surveillance by land, sea, and air, in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies.

In total, the Customs and Excise Bali handled 450 enforcement cases this year, with potential state revenue losses estimated at Rp 44.16 billion.
