Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto has declared an all-out war against narcotics, calling drug abuse one of the greatest threats to the nation’s future.
Speaking at the destruction of 214.84 tons of confiscated drugs worth Rp29.37 trillion ($1.8 billion) at the Indonesian National Police (INP) headquarters in Jakarta on Wednesday (29/10/2025), he vowed sustained national cooperation in combating narcotics trafficking.
“If not intercepted, seized, and destroyed, these drugs could harm 629 million people, more than twice Indonesia’s population,” he said in his address, as reported by antaranews.com.
The president emphasized that the fight against drugs must involve all layers of society, from law enforcement to families and educators. He also announced plans to expand rehabilitation centers across Indonesia, particularly in districts without such facilities. “
This is not just the job of the police or the BNN ; it is the duty of the entire nation,” President Prabowo said, referring to the National Narcotics Agency.
INPChief Listyo Sigit Prabowo praised the president’s unexpected presence, saying it motivated officers nationwide.
