Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. In the mist-covered highlands of Central Papua Tengah, the people of Kulirik Kampong received unexpected guests—not with fear, but with smiles and curiosity.
The Public Relations Task Force of the Damai Cartenz Operation 2025 arrived in the small kampong in Distrik Muara, Puncak Jaya regency, not with weapons raised, but with arms full of food supplies and open-hearted intention.
The task force, whose primary duty is securing the region from armed criminal group (KKB) disruptions, took time between patrols to distribute packages of sembako—staple goods including rice, cooking oil, instant noodles, sugar, and snacks. Children peeked from doorways while elders gathered near, their faces etched with lines of labor and endurance, now softening into expressions of gratitude.
“This isn’t just about security. We want our presence to bring peace, friendship, and humanity,” said Brigadier General Faizal Rahmadani, the Head of the Damai Cartenz Task Force, on Monday (5/5/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com. “We’re here not only in uniform, but in spirit—as neighbors.”
The visit was met with visible warmth. Residents embraced the gesture, welcoming the task force like old friends.
According to Chief Faizal, such moments of connection are part of a larger, human-centered strategy to build trust and maintain harmony in Papua. Similar efforts, he added, will continue across other operational areas—small acts of compassion woven into the broader efforts of peacekeeping.
