Following intensive interrogation, authorities linked Kogoya to a string of violent attacks, including the murder of two gold miners in September 2025 and the January shooting of a Hercules aircraft at Nop Goliat Dekai Airport.
"The task force remains committed to firm and measured law enforcement against armed groups disrupting stability in Papua," said Damai Cartenz Task Force Head Brigadier General Faizal Ramadani on Monday (2/3/2026), as cited by antaranews.com.
The investigation also identified three other high-profile suspects, including Kotor Payage, who is currently being processed by the Papua Regional Police for multiple ambushes on civilian vehicles and military personnel since early 2024.
In addition, suspects Enage Heluka and Homi Heluka were implicated in various acts of arson and killings targeting logistics drivers.
