Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian Ambassador to Iran Rolliansyah Soemirat confirmed on Monday (2/3/2026) that all 329 registered Indonesian citizens (WNI) in Iran are safe following recent military escalations.
While most remain in their respective residences, the Indonesian Embassy in Tehran has begun providing shelter for six citizens who were forced to vacate their dormitories due to workplace and school closures.
"We are currently housing several citizens at the embassy for their security, primarily because their accommodations were cleared by their employers or schools," Ambassador Roelliansyah said during a video conference from Tehran, as cited by antaranews.com.
The Ambassador noted that the actual number of Indonesians may exceed official records, as some maritime workers have yet to report their presence. Despite the highly dynamic situation in Tehran, where flashes of conflict remain visible from the embassy, officials continue to maintain 24-hour vigilance.
Indonesian citizens have been officially advised to restrict outdoor activities and avoid mass demonstrations as regional tensions between Iran, Israel, and the U.S. persist.
