inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police's Criminal Investigation Directorate has uncovered a deadly brawl in Bekasi City. Two perpetrators of the stabbing were arrested: a person with the initials of TFA and a minor.
Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police Public Relations Chief Senior Superintendent Budi Hermanto stated that the other two perpetrators are still on the wanted list. The victim, identified as TRB, was a university student.
"The victim died after suffering severe injuries to the waist, left thigh, and forehead," he explained on Friday (1/23/2026).
He explained that the incident occurred on Sunday (1/18/2026) at around 4:00 a.m. in front of the Bekasi Creative Center Building in Bekasi City, West Java. The brawl between groups took place in a public space and caused unrest among local residents.
After conducting an investigation through crime scene processing, CCTV review, and witness interviews, police were able to identify the perpetrators and apprehend a man with the initials of TFA and a minor who was directly involved in the attack of the victim with a machete.
Budi stated that this disclosure is part of the police's commitment to maintaining public safety.
"We take firm action against all forms of street violence, including brawls, because they seriously endanger public safety and disrupt public order," he said.
He also appealed to the public, especially young people in Bekasi City and the surrounding area, not to get involved in brawls or provocations via social media.
"If the public needs emergency assistance or sees potential disturbances to public order and security, immediately contact the police call center at 110. We are ready to provide protection, guidance, and services to the community," he explained.
