Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP)’s counterterrorism unit, Densus 88, teamed up with the Ministry of Agriculture to train former terrorism convicts in halal slaughtering and dairy processing at the Livestock Training Center (BBPP) in Batu, East Java, from 24 to 26 September 2025.
“If in the past Densus 88 focused on enforcement, now we also take part in community rehabilitation. Through this partnership, we have held training in artificial insemination, feed formulation, and now halal slaughter and dairy,” said Densus 88 Commander Inspector General Sentot Prasetyo in a written statement on Saturday (27/9/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.
Participants came from Central Java, East Java, and South Sumatra, including former members of Jamaah Islamiyah. They received hands-on practice in halal goat and poultry slaughtering, milk processing into yogurt and dairy-based snacks, and visits to local small and medium enterprises.
The closing ceremony was attended by local officials, police leaders, and Ministry of Agriculture representatives, underscoring a multi-stakeholder approach to reintegration and food security.
