Inp.polri.go.id - Central Lombok. The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Regional Police harvested 50 tons of corn on 10 hectares of farmland in Selebung village, Central Lombok, on Saturday, in a program supporting Indonesia’s national food security agenda.

“This corn planting program is designed to strengthen food resilience and improve farmers’ welfare,” said NTB Police Chief Inspector General Hadi Gunawan during the mass harvest ceremony on Saturday (27/9/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.

He highlighted that corn not only plays a vital role in food supply but also supports livestock feed and industrial needs.

The police provided seeds, training, and assistance to farmers, while also overseeing the sale of harvested corn to the state logistics agency Bulog. Chief Hadi said the initiative reflects the police’s role as “public servants and protectors” who also contribute to economic security.

The program supports President Prabowo Subianto’s policy to involve law enforcement in food security efforts. Chief Hadi urged farmers to adopt modern technology, calling corn “green gold” for NTB’s economy.
