inp.polri.go.id - Counter Terrorism Special Detachment 88 (Densus 88) managed to arrest a suspected terrorist from the Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) network with the initials of RY in Magetan, East Java. "Densus 88 has managed to arrest one terrorist suspect from the JI network with the initials of RY, alias D, Tuesday, 2nd August 2, at 08.00 a.m., on Magetan Street," said the Head of Public Information of the National Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan, Tuesday (8/2). He revealed that t RY was suspected of joining the Jamaah Islamiyah group since 2013. RY is said to have helped the JI with the Free Syrian Army through Dubai. "His involvement in 2013 is by participating in the selection of JI's international relations members," he explained. Densus 88 also suspected RY had went to Syria via Istanbul to establish relations with Jabhat Al Nusra. "In 2015, RY returned to Syria via Istanbul to build relations with Jabhat Al Nusra, and he was detained by the ISIS military group. RY is also suspected having a connections in Yemen, to open JI's relationship with Al-Qaeda and get a military training in Syria," said Brigadier General Ahmad in a press conference.
