Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia National Police (INP)’s counterterrorism unit, Densus 88, has arrested four ISIS supporters in coordinated raids across West Sumatra and North Sumatra between 3 and 6 October 2025.
The suspects, identified by initials RW, KM, AY, and RR, are believed to be members of the Ansharut Daulah network linked to ISIS.
“They created and distributed online content promoting the ISIS caliphate and encouraging violent acts,” said Densus 88 Head of Public Relations Superintendent Mayndra Eka Wardhana on Tuesday (8/10/2025).
Authorities seized several pieces of evidence, including a camouflage vest, documents bearing the ISIS logo, and radical books advocating for the establishment of an Islamic state. Investigators believe the suspects used social media platforms to recruit sympathizers and spread extremist propaganda targeting young users.
Densus 88 urged the public to remain vigilant against radicalization online and report suspicious activities to authorities as digital extremism continues to pose a significant threat in Indonesia.
