Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia has officially concluded its REDD+ Result-Based Payment (RBP) Project for the 2014–2016 period, achieving a verified reduction of 20.25 million tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO₂e).
The country received USD 103.8 million (around IDR 1.7 trillion) from the Green Climate Fund (GCF) as recognition of its climate mitigation efforts.
“With strong coordination and collaboration, the REDD+ management has run effectively and achieved its targets,” said Rosa Vivien Ratnawati, the Secretary of the Ministry of Environment and the Environmental Control Agency, on Tuesday (7/10/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.
The climate funds were managed transparently by Indonesia’s Environmental Fund Management Agency (BPDLH) in partnership with UNDP, supporting the 2021–2030 National REDD+ Strategy and enhancing the National Registry System (SRN PPI). Officials highlighted the program’s dual benefit—reducing greenhouse gas emissions while empowering local and Indigenous communities.
The achievement sets a foundation for Indonesia’s next milestones: the FOLU Net Sink 2030 target and the Net Zero Emission vision by 2060.
