Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) counterterrorism unit Densus 88 revealed it had discovered seven explosive devices linked to the recent blast at SMA 72 high school in North Jakarta on Friday.
“It’s true that seven explosives were found. Their types have been identified,” said Densus 88 spokesperson Superintendent Mayndra Eka Wardhana on Monday (10/11/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.
He confirmed that four of the explosives were active and located at two sites near the school, but declined to disclose further details.
The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police are now investigating possible links between the suspected perpetrator and terrorist networks by analyzing motives and online activity.
“We are reviewing the suspect’s social media to determine whether they had joined any online groups affiliated with extremist movements,” said Metro Jaya Police Head of Public Relations Senior Superintendent. Budi Hermanto.
The investigation involves multiple units and authorities have engaged the Child Protection Commission (KPAI) to provide psychological support, as both the suspect and victims are minors.
