Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Chief Justice Sunarto condemned all forms of threats and violence against court personnel following a recent assault on a Sibolga court clerk and a separate fire at a Medan judge’s residence, both in North Sumatra
“The Chief Justice condemns all judicial interference, threats, and physical or psychological violence against court officials across Indonesia,” Supreme Court spokesperson Yanto said on Monday (10/11/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.
He added that Sunarto had ordered local court leaders to report such incidents to police and coordinate with security forces during case executions.
Chief Justice Sunarto also urged restraint amid speculation surrounding the fire at the home of Medan District Court Judge Khamozaro Waruwu, who handles a high-profile corruption case.
“All parties should wait patiently for the police investigation results,” Yanto said.
The Supreme Court has deployed a team to Medan for moral support, while the Indonesian Judges Association (Ikahi) called the incidents a threat to justice and urged authorities to act swiftly.
