Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has facilitated the transfer of former agriculture minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo to the Gatot Subroto Central Army Hospital . "Upon verification, it is confirmed that he is being treated based on a referral from the KPK Detention Centre doctor," KPK Information Department Head Ali Fikri on Wednesday (8/11/2023). He added that the former minister, who has been detained by KPK since 13 October 2023, sought medical treatment on Tuesday afternoon and was transferred to the hospital later that evening. However, Ali declined to give further details about his health problem that necessitated this's hospitalization, antaranews.com reported The KPK detained the former minister and former Director of Agricultural Machinery at the Ministry of Agriculture, Muhammad Hatta  in connection with an alleged corruption case within the ministry. The alleged corruption case arose during his tenure as Minister of Agriculture from 2019 to 2024. He allegedly orchestrated a personal policy of levies and collections from internal officials at the Ministry of Agriculture to meet personal needs, including those of his immediate family. This policy of levies and collections took place from 2020 to 2023. They both are charged with violating Articles 12(e) and 12B of Law No. 31 of 1999 on the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption. Former minister Limpois accused of violating Article 3 and/or 4 of Law No. 8 of 2010 on Money Laundering Offences. (mg/inp/pr/nm)
