Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta District Court sentenccd former Communication and Information Minister Johnny G. Plate to 15 years in prison and imposed a Rp1 billion fine in a corruption case related to the procurement of 4G-based Base Transceiver Station (BTS) infrastructure on Wednesday (8/11/2023). Chief Judge Fahzal Hendri declared that the panel of judges found Plate culpable for his involvement in corruption along with other defendants. "The defendant Johnny Gerard Plate has been legally and convincingly proven to be guilty of jointly committing criminal acts of corruption and gratification," he said during the hearing, referencing the charges against Plate as outlined in the primary indictment by the public prosecutor. The indictment revealed that Plate, along with other defendants, was involved in corrupt practices during the procurement process for 4G-based BTS infrastructure and associated infrastructure across various Ministry of Communication and Information packages from 2020 to 2022, antaranews.com reported. The prosecutor's case alleged that Plate and his associates benefited financially from the project. Plate allegedly received around Rp17 billion, Anang Achmad Latif received Rp5 billion, and Yohan Suryanto received approximately Rp453 million. Furthermore, Irwan Hermawan from PT Solitechmedia Sinergy received Rp119 billion, Windi Purnama received Rp500 million, and Muhammad Yusrizki obtained Rp50 billion and US$2.5 million. The case further unfolded that various consortiums received extensive amounts for different packages: FiberHome PT Telkominfra and PT Multi Trans Data (PT MTD) garnered nearly Rp3 trillion for packages 1 and 2; Lintasarta Huawei SEI received Rp1.5 trillion for package 3; and the IBS-ZTE consortium secured Rp3.5 trillion for packages 4 and 5.
