Discovers Illegal Firearm Manufacture, Manokwari Police Arrest Six Suspects

Inp.polri.go.id – West Papua. Police have uncovered illegal firearms manufacturer syndicate in SP II and SP III Settlement Units Line D, Prafi District, Manokwari Regency, West Papua. On the discovery, police secured six suspects with 12 assembled firearms as evidence. “Yes, there are arrests on illegal assembled firearms manufacturer with 12 guns as evidence,” says Manokwari Sub-regional Police Chief, Grand Commissioner Rivadin Benny Simangunsong. He reveals that the arrest was carried out on Sunday (10/22/2023) by Criminal Investigation Operation Unit along with Maruni Sub-sector police. Initially, police arrested a group of people in Sidomuncul Village SP II with the identity of Karsiwan (35), Rodi Tirana (38), and Aris Rayestia Hadi Prabowo (34). Later on, team able to arrest Mohamad Saprudin, Mohamad Taslim, and Nanang Maskuri in SP III. The illegal assembled firearm manufacturers were arrested after the case development of Yustis Iba who were arrested on October 2nd. Police continue to develop the case of Yustis and found other suspects and the production place of the assembled firearms. Suspects learned to manufactured the assembled gun from a man initialed W, who is currently on the run. The manufactured gun was sold to the people of Arfak tribe with each sold for IDR 10 million to IDR 15 million. (ad/my/pr/nm)
