inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Vice Chairman of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) Moh Rano Alfath gave his high appreciation to the Indonesian National Police (INP) for their success in uncovering 3,326 cases of thuggery in various regions of Indonesia during the period of 1–9 May 2025.

According to him, this achievement is real evidence of the state's presence in ensuring the public's sense of security.

"I express my highest appreciation to the ranks of INP for their extraordinary performance during this operation. Handling these acts of thuggery not only shows the effectiveness of the apparatus in enforcing the law, but also strengthens public perception of the supremacy of law in Indonesia," said Rano in his statement in Jakarta, Saturday (5/10/2025).

He emphasized that thuggery is a serious threat to social and economic stability, because it targets strategic public spaces such as industrial areas, business premises, and small community activities. He considered the operation carried out by the police as a quick and relevant response to President Prabowo Subianto's direction.

"In an academic context, thuggery is a form of organized crime that can develop into more complex crimes if not handled immediately. Therefore, the police's approach through early detection, preventive measures, to repression is an example of good practice in national security governance," he explained.

Rano also emphasized the importance of synergy between the military, police, local governments, and civil society in forming a strong social resilience system.

INP recorded that they have handled 3,326 cases in Regional Police Operations targeting thuggery practices throughout Indonesia. This operation began on May 1, 2025.

The Head of INP Public Relations Division, Inspector General Sandi Nugroho, stated that this operation is a concrete step to eradicate thuggery that disturbs the community and hinders the investment climate.

"This operation is a real effort by INP to maintain a sense of security for the community and support a healthy business climate," added Sandi.
