Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The House of Representatives (DPR RI) has approved General Agus Subiyanto as the new Commander of the Indonesian Military during the 9th Plenary Session on Tuesday (21/11/23).
Meutya Hafid, Chairman of DPR RI Commission I, announced that the commission, in its feasibility test on November 13, thoroughly examined Agus Subiyanto's vision and mission.
Having taken into account the perspectives of various factions and Commission I members, Meutya conveyed unanimous approval for the honorable dismissal of Admiral Yudo Margono from the position of the Commander of the Indonesian Military.
Agus Subiyanto, formerly the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army (Kasad) since October 25, 2023, has been selected as the Commander of the Indonesian Military, succeeding Yudo Margono, who retired on November 26, 2023.
Following DPR RI's approval, Agus Subiyanto awaits inauguration by President Jokowi as the Chief of the Indonesian Military, set to occur at the State Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday (22/11/23).
