inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Charles Honoris, Vice Chairman of Commission IX of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), respects Nanik Sudaryati Deyang's decision to resign from her position as head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) for health reasons.

"I respect Ms. Nanik's decision to resign for health reasons. I pray that she will be granted a smooth treatment and a speedy recovery," he told reporters in Jakarta on Wednesday (7/22/2026).

However, he emphasized that the change in BGN leadership should not be viewed simply as a change of figure. According to him, the more important thing is to make comprehensive improvements to the governance of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program.

The legislator for social security matters advised that whoever leads BGN in the future must have the courage to evaluate and reorganize the MBG program to ensure that it is more targeted, safe, accountable, and in line with the country's fiscal capacity.

He also emphasized that Commission IX of the DPR, as BGN's partner, will continue to carry out its oversight function to ensure this leadership change serves as a momentum for improvement.

"The most important thing is not just who leads, but whether the people truly benefit from this program safely, effectively, and sustainably," said Charles.

Nanik S. Deyang has submitted her resignation as head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) due to health reasons, as confirmed by Dirgayuza Setiawan, Special Assistant to the President for Communication and Policy.

"Today, Ms. Nanik Deyang bid farewell to President Prabowo to undergo heart treatment and resign as Head of the National Nutrition Agency," Yuza confirmed from Jakarta on Wednesday (7/22/2026).

In a statement posted on her social media, Nanik explained that her resignation was related to her heart treatment abroad.
