inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Vice Minister of Agriculture Sudaryono stated his readiness to carry out the mandate to optimally implement the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program for the public following his appointment by President Prabowo Subianto as Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN).
"I promise one thing: I will do my best, work hard, and do my best," he said in Jakarta on Wednesday (7/22/2026).
Sudaryono admitted that he had been appointed by President Prabowo as Head of BGN, replacing Nanik S. Deyang, who resigned due to health reasons. He expressed his readiness to carry out the mandate.
He said he received information about the appointment via telephone from Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, who informed him that the inauguration would take place on Wednesday (7/22/2026) afternoon.
He explained that Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi had also issued an official statement confirming that the President had appointed him to replace the resigned Head of BGN.
"I received a call from Mr. Teddy earlier, saying there's an inauguration this afternoon. And earlier, the Minister of State Secretary also gave a press statement that I was appointed by the President to replace Ms. Nanik, who resigned today due to health reasons," said Sudaryono.
He stated that the MBG program is a priority program of President Prabowo, which has been prepared since the campaign period and is now one of the government's main agendas.
He further explained that during his tenure at the Ministry of Agriculture, he has closely followed the progress of the MBG program's implementation, particularly regarding the food supply chain, which involves national farmers, livestock breeders, and fishermen.
Sudaryono said that the implementation of the MBG program has impacted various agricultural commodities, such as eggs and chickens, so its impact on the food sector continues to be a government concern.
Sudaryono stated that based on the Minister of State Secretary's explanation, he will not hold concurrent positions and will therefore have to relinquish his position as Deputy Minister of Agriculture after being inaugurated as Head of the National Land Agency (BGN).
