Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  Chairman of the House of Representatives (DPR)’s  Commission III, Habiburokhman, formally requested the release of an ITB student detained over a meme posted on social media involving President Prabowo Subianto.

In a letter to the Indonesian National Police (INP)’s Criminal Investigation Agency , he offered himself as guarantor for the student, identified as SS, and promised to ensure her compliance with legal procedures.

“I believe the Indonesian National Police Chief, Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, is a very wise person,” Habiburokhman said on Sunday (11/5/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

The lawmaker guaranteed that the student would not flee, tamper with evidence, repeat the offense, or obstruct the legal process.

“I will also provide guidance to the student,” said the lawmaker, who is a member of  President Prabowo’s Gerindra Party.

The INP previously confirmed the arrest over a meme depicting President Prabowo.
