Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP)’s Criminal Investigation Agency) has arrested a drug courier who dumped over 207,000 ecstasy pills after crashing on the Trans-Sumatra Toll Road.

The suspect, identified as MR, was arrested in Tigaraksa, Banten, on Sunday after a joint pursuit by the INP’s Sub-Directorate 4 and the National Illegal Drugs Task Force.

“On Monday, MR was tracked while traveling with his family and successfully arrested by our joint team,” said Brigadier General. Eko Hadi Santoso, the Director of Narcotics Crime Investigation, on Monday (24/11/2025), as cited by antaranews.com.

Suspect MR, a previous methamphetamine offender convicted in 2013, allegedly transported five bags containing 207,529 ecstasy tablets from Palembang to Jakarta under instructions from a fugitive identified only as “U”.

Police said suspect MR panicked after a crash on 20  November 2025 and threw the bags into a roadside ravine near Bakauheni Port. He later attempted to escape during questioning, prompting “firm and measured action,” according to investigators.

The INP has taken over the case and seized all narcotics evidence.
