Dutch Climber Rescued by Helicopter After Fall on Mount Rinjani

Inp.polri.go.id - Mataram.  Dutch climber Sarah Tamara van Hulten was airlifted from Mount Rinjani, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, after falling on the Sembalun route toward Segara Anak Lake on Thursday (17/7/2025).

“A rescue helicopter from SGi Air Bali departed at 15:45 WITA and landed at the scene at 4.41 pm local time. The victim was promptly evacuated,” said Mataram Search and Rescue (SAR) Chief Muhamad Hariyadi, as quoted by antaranews.com.

The helicopter departed Mount Rinjani at 4.52 pm, carrying the victim and a companion to BIMC Hospital in Kuta, Bali.

The SAR office received the alert at 2 pm from Mount Rinjani National Park authorities. A five-member rescue team was deployed with full mountaineering and medical gear. Due to the severity, SAR coordinated with SGi Air Bali and SAR Denpasar to arrange aerial evacuation.

SAR Denpasar confirmed the helicopter landed safely at 5.29 pm in Bali with five onboard, including two crew, a doctor, the victim, and her companion.
