Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. East Java Regional Police ready to secure U-17 FIFA World Cup and 2024 General Elections. This was stated by East Java Police Chief, Inspector General Imam Sugianto on Monday (10/30/2023).
“These two agendas are very much close. One is elections which was prepared through Mantap Brata Operation for 222 days which will last until October 2024. The second agenda which will occur ten days from today is the U-17 FIFA World Cup,” says the police chief.
He asked the support of East Java community for the smooth security operations and jointly support the police in succeeding the international event for the good name of Surabaya.
“Regarding the opening ceremony of U-17 World Cup in Gelora Bung Tomo Surabaya Stadium on November 10th 2023, we have discussed the matter during security preparation meeting. Currently we are waiting for Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) willingness to coordinate. Next week hopefully we will be able to held tactical floor game,” says the Police Chief quoted from viva.
Moreover, there are several security priority locations during U-17 World Cup in Surabaya, which are the stadium and four hotels where the Indonesian, Panama, Morocco, and Ecuador players stay.
