inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Lamongan Sub-regional Police focused on providing traffic safety education and enforcing laws based on Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) during Operation Semeru Safety, which ran from February 2-15, 2026.
Lamongan Sub-regional Police Vice Chief, Police Assistant Superintendent Jodi Indrawan, stated that the operation involved 92 joint personnel from the police, the military, and the local Transportation Agency.
"The main focus of this operation is to educate the public and utilize ETLE for objective, fair, and transparent law enforcement," said Jodi on Tuesday (2/3/2026).
He explained that the 14-day operation aimed to reduce violations, prevent accidents, and improve traffic flow.
According to Jodi, public education was conducted through social media, mass media, and direct outreach to road users. He also explained that patrols were also intensified in areas prone to violations and potential accidents.
"Enforcement will continue to be carried out selectively and humanely so that the public understands the importance of traffic safety, not just fear of being ticketed," he said.
He emphasized that all personnel must work professionally, prioritize public safety, and strengthen synergy with relevant agencies.
Through Operation Semeru Safety 2026, the Lamongan Police hope to create orderly and safe traffic in preparation for Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2026.
