inp.polri.go.id - Central Kalimantan. The Water and Air Unit Directorate of Central Kalimantan Regional Police facilitates a room for reading for the children of Pegatan Hilir Village.
In the room, children can pick the provided books as they were accompanied by the officers and will be guided throughout the learning process.
The presence of the reading hut provides a place and means for children to gain knowledge in a comfortable environment.
Central Kalimantan Regional Police Chief Inspector General Iwan Kurniawan, stated that this program is not new.
Officers have consistently implemented this literacy activity, establishing an official working relationship with the local Regional Library Office.
"We are always ready to support efforts to improve the education of our country, so that our next generation will be much better in the future," said Dony Eka Putra.
The Central Kalimantan Regional Police's Water Police Directorate hopes that the reading hut will provide broad benefits to the riverbank community.
It is hoped that with this facility, children and adults in remote villages will have access to knowledge on a par with those in urban areas.
