The Indonesian General Election Commission (KPU) states the presidential and vice-presidential candidates debate will be held within six stages with a total duration of 150 minutes. This is in accordance to KPU Decree Number 1621 of 2023 regarding Technical Guidelines for Implementing General Election Campaigns. The decree detailed that the debate will be held for 120 minutes with a space of 30 minutes for advertisement. KPU currently is still looking on the right schedule and place for the debate for the candidates of 2024 General Elections. For the time being, the specific theme of the debate is being arranged with panelists according to their field of expertise. “The theme will be based on national goals as stated in Preamble to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, while also discussing about National Long Term Development Plan,” states KPU officials written on the letter.
