The president of Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), Gianni Infantino scheduled to meet with President Joko Widodo, says the Football Association of Indonesia Chair, Erick Thohir. Erick reveals there are several agendas that will be discussed between the two, one of which are holding more FIFA events in Indonesia. “FIFA President will arrive in Indonesia on November 9th, and I would have a dinner time with him. On November 10th, he would meet with President Joko Widodo in the morning,” says Erick on Thursday (11/9/2023). “What kind of discussion they would exactly talked about, I’m not sure. But what I’m sure is that we will push more FIFA events in Indonesia, but for now we are focusing on making sure the U-17 (World Cup) success,” add Erick. Gianni Infantino set to attend the opening ceremony of U-17 World Cup at Surabaya Bung Tomo Stadium. The ceremony will be hold during an opening match between Indonesia against Ecuador at 19:00 o’clock. The 19th U-17 World Cup will begin on November 10th until December 2nd with Indonesia as its host. (ad/ndt/pr/nm)
